Terms of Use
Effective date: May 2026
Planning & Coordination Tool — Not Professional or Regulatory Advice
CHAIOS apps are designed to support planning, coordination, and organisation only. They are not a replacement for professional legal, financial, or regulatory advice, and must not be relied upon as an authoritative source for compliance obligations. Any guidance provided within the apps is based on publicly available information and should be used as a reference or reminder only. Always consult the relevant authoritative bodies, qualified legal advisors, or licensed professionals to verify and confirm compliance or obligatory requirements.
Limitation of Liability — Please Read Carefully
CHAIOS accepts no liability for any damages, losses, or disruptions — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from the use of, inability to use, or interruption of the CHAIOS web or mobile applications, including any reliance on in-app guidance, reference content, or compliance-related information. By creating an account or using the Services, you expressly acknowledge and accept this limitation.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CHAIOS mobile application and web application (collectively, the "Services") operated by CHAIOS ("we", "our", "us").
By registering for an account or using the Services in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Purpose and Scope of Services
CHAIOS develops applications to support personal and professional planning, coordination, and organisation. Our apps are tools to help you keep track of activities, manage schedules, and organise information — they are not expert systems, professional advisors, or regulatory authorities.
CHAIOS apps are not, and must not be relied upon as:
- A replacement for professional legal, financial, regulatory, compliance, or medical advice
- An authoritative or verified source of compliance requirements, regulatory obligations, or legal information
- A secure or appropriate platform for storing sensitive personal identification documents, legal contracts, financial credentials, classified records, or confidential compliance documentation
- A tool for confirming, certifying, or validating compliance with any legal, regulatory, or industry framework
In-app guidance and reference content:
Any guidance, checklists, templates, reminders, or reference information provided within CHAIOS applications is derived from publicly available sources and is intended solely as a convenience reference. This content:
- Is informational only and does not constitute professional, legal, financial, or regulatory advice
- May not reflect the most current laws, regulations, or requirements applicable to your specific situation or jurisdiction
- Does not confirm, verify, or guarantee compliance with any legal, regulatory, or industry obligation
Your responsibility:
You are solely responsible for verifying any compliance obligations, regulatory requirements, or legal duties through the relevant authoritative bodies, qualified legal advisors, or licensed professionals. CHAIOS cannot confirm, certify, or validate compliance with any regulatory framework, and any action or inaction taken in reliance on in-app content is taken entirely at your own risk.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at support@chaios.au if you suspect unauthorised access.
You agree not to share your account credentials with others or use another person's account without authorisation.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Upload or share content that is unlawful, harmful, or offensive
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services or another user's account
- Use the Services to distribute spam, malware, or any other harmful software
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Services
- Use automated tools to scrape or overload the Services
- Store highly sensitive information (including but not limited to government-issued identity documents, tax file numbers, legal instruments, or confidential business records) within the Services
6. Intellectual Property
The CHAIOS name, logo, and all content, design elements, and software within the Services are the intellectual property of CHAIOS and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Services without our prior written consent.
You retain full ownership of any content you create within the Services (event data, notes, etc.). CHAIOS does not store file attachments — any files you attach are saved to your own device or personal cloud storage account (such as OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox) and remain entirely under your control.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Services will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free at all times
- Any data stored through the Services will be free from loss, corruption, or unauthorised access
- The Services will meet your specific requirements
- Any in-app guidance, checklist, template, or reference content is accurate, complete, current, or applicable to your specific jurisdiction or circumstances
- Use of the Services will result in compliance with any law, regulation, or industry standard
You use the Services entirely at your own risk.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CHAIOS, its officers, employees, affiliates, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Services. This includes, without limitation:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses
- Disruptions to your planning or coordination activities caused by downtime, bugs, or service interruptions
- Any damages arising from reliance on information, guidance, checklists, templates, or reference content provided through the Services
- Any regulatory fines, penalties, legal costs, or compliance failures arising from reliance on in-app content as a substitute for professional advice or authoritative sources
- Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
- Any loss or damage resulting from storing sensitive or confidential information within the Services contrary to the guidance in these Terms
This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if CHAIOS has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
By creating an account, you expressly agree to this limitation of liability as a condition of your use of the Services.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CHAIOS, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
10. Third-Party Services
The Services rely on third-party infrastructure, including:
- Supabase — for authentication and database only.
- Personal cloud storage providers (e.g. OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox) — if you opt to store files in the cloud, they are saved directly to your own account with your chosen provider. CHAIOS does not hold or access these files.
We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or security of these third-party services. Your use of personal cloud storage is subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct we deem harmful to the Services or other users. Upon termination, your right to access the Services ceases immediately.
You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the applicable jurisdiction.
13. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CHAIOS with respect to the Services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
14. Contact
