A wishlist that doesn’t tell you who bought what.
Birthdays that turn up before you’ve missed them, gift ideas kept year-round, and a shareable list that keeps the surprise intact.
What it does
Everything Gifts & Occasions gives you.
Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, weddings — recurring or one-off.
Somewhere to put the good idea you have in March for the birthday in October.
A wishlist where claims are held somewhere you have no permission to read.
Plan an occasion with somebody else, instead of in a group chat.
What it costs
Things you'd normally pay for. Here they're just included.
| Feature | Usually costs | In Nexus |
|---|---|---|
| Invitations and RSVPs | Increasingly subscription-only, from about $4 a month | Free |
| A claimable wishlist | Usually free with advertisements | Free, no ads |
| An owner who is not shown the claims | Rare — most rely on you not looking | Built into the structure |
Only what you want
Use it as just a birthday and gift list.
Nexus asks which parts you want when you sign up, and you can change your mind whenever you like. Turn everything else off and this is the whole app — the menu, the home screen, the quick-add button. Nothing you did not ask for is on screen.
Turn something back on a year later and it is waiting, with whatever you had already put in it. Hiding is not deleting. It works perfectly well as the only thing you use.
If you want more
What Gifts & Occasions can do that a single-purpose app can’t.
The gift budget is your actual budget. Christmas has a number, and it’s the same money as everything else.
The occasion becomes an event when it grows a guest list, a venue and a seating plan. You don’t start again somewhere else.
The date is on the family calendar so you can see a birthday and a school holiday heading for the same week.
The people are your contacts already grouped into households.
What you get, and what it costs
Nexus is free. Not free-for-now, and not free-until-you-need-the-good-bit — nothing you already have is ever moved behind a payment. You can export everything you put in, from every module, whenever you like.
It is free for the businesses in the directory too. Nobody pays for a listing, and nobody buys your data.
Read the promiseOccasions is where Nexus is least like an app and most like a household memory. It works because the people, the money and the calendar were already here.
